LONDON firefighters are tackling a huge blaze in Canning Town which has sent thick plumes of black smoke across the capital.

Firefighters are tackling a blaze at an industrial estate in Canning Town.

Around 60 firefighters are battling the inferno at an industrial estate in Lanrick Road, which broke out at around 12:30pm.

London Fire Brigade has urged residents to keep their windows and doors closed, as with thick black smoke pouring into the air.

Shock images from the scene show the smoke moving through London.

London Fire Brigade said: "Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters have been called to a fire at an industrial estate in Lanrick Road in #CanningTown. More info to follow.
