NAIJ.com earlier published that unconfirmed reports have it that
soldiers allegedly stormed into the home of the leader of the
Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, in Abia state.In a
statement sent to NAIJ.com on Thursday evening, September 14, Kanu's
lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, said the soldiers forcefully gained entrance
into his client's house after shooting for about 40 minutes.
He said the entrance gate of the IPOB leader's residence was
broken-down and forced open. Following the alleged invasion, a video
has surfaced showing people allegedly killed by the Nigerian army.
In the video, it was said that Nnamdi Kanu's father was missing and
the Nigerian army had invaded his home, killing several innocent
people.
Many believe that the video was made by Nnamdi Kanu himself. In it he
can be heard saying that more than four people were killed and his
father alongside several others were taken away.
Popular pro-Biafra reporter, Somto Okonkwo, who made a live video on
his Facebook page of the alleged attack was also reportedly missing.
The spokesperson for the, Abia police command, Geoffrey Ogbona said
that the attack was carried out around 6.30am on Thursday, September
14, during an ongoing military operation in the area.
