Former president Olusegun Obasanjo has advised President Buhari to
have a meeting with the leader of the now-outlawed secessionist group
IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.
In an interview with The Newsweek in London yesterday September 15th,
Obasanjo said he sees nothing wrong in President Buhari meeting with
the IPOB leader and that him, Obasanjo, would also like to meet with
Kanu and his likes in Nigeria.
"I don't see anything wrong in that [Buhari meeting with Kanu]. I
would not object to that. If anything, I would encourage it. I would
want to meet Kanu myself and talk to people like him, people of his
age, [and ask:]
'What are your worries?' Not only from the southeast but from all
parts of Nigeria." he said
