Government should not spend public fund for religious purposes - El-Rufai

- Governor Nasir El-Rufai has faulted the act of using public funds

for religious purposes



- He also warned people against using their religion to terrorise

people with different faith



Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state has called on government to

stop sponsoring religious activities with public fund.



In a series of tweets, from the governor's twitter handle, the

governor said there is a need to cure people of the dangerous believe

that they can use religion to acquire preferment for themselves while

derogating from the rights of those of other faiths

The governor also question the logic behind religious intolerance.

According to him, how does one believe in God but show hatred for

other human being created by God, just because they have different

religion.

The governor reportedly made this statement on Saturday, during the

Kaduna Centre for the Study of Christian-Muslim Relations' graduation

ceremony insisted that religion is a private affair and government

should not interfere, but rather act as facilitators and protectors of

religious act.
